Mongolia Visa Take II

Called the two phone numbers at the Mongolian embassy in Astana this morning. They both rang out.
Neat.
The question we had to ask ourselves was this: do we wait until Saturday to catch the next available train to Astana and then hope on Monday that the Mongolia embassy is actually taking visas applications?
Or do we book a cheap flight to Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan, where our chances of getting a China visa are in the realms of possibility?
Kyrgyzstan, here we come.
