From the Archive: Polar Bears from Afar, Svalbard, Norway
With practice, you can become very good at spotting polar bears from afar.
There is no secret really. More than anything, you need to spend time outside actually looking. A good pair of binoculars helps too.
Despite what some photographer’s will have you think, polar bears actually have an off white or slightly yellowish fur. Polar bears that are moving are the easiest to see.
This high angle view was taken from a ship, of a mother and her two cubs. Check back tomorrow for a close up look.
