From the Archive: Sea kayaking, the West Coast, New Zealand
When I moved to New Zealand permanently, one of the first things I purchased was an expedition sea kayak. As I picked up more paddling skills, I ventured further afield, paddling in places like Abel Tasman National Park, Marlborough Sounds, Pelorus Sounds, Banks Peninsula, Lake Manapouri and Fiordland National Park.
Eventually I made my way to the West Coast, where this photo was taken. The combination of wilderness and solitude, make the West Coast a pretty special place to paddle.
